Samples are where most of the waste lives
The biggest single saving for most people is rendering fewer samples and letting a modern denoiser clean up the rest. Plenty of animators brute-force samples out of caution, paying for image purity long past the point anyone can see it in motion. Find the lowest sample count where your noisiest frame still looks right after denoising, render the whole sequence there, and you often cut render time by a third with no visible difference.
